Overview

Trivia Live gives Richmond trivia hosts professional-grade software at no cost — in exchange, every session puts Channel RVA in front of a live, local audience. The host console handles question banks, round management, free-response answer clumping powered by Claude AI, flexible scoring (full points, half points, wagering, speed bonuses, and manual overrides), and a one-tap leaderboard reveal on the venue TV screen. Players join on their phones with no login required, pick a team name, and optionally subscribe to the Channel RVA newsletter. The TV screen and player handset both carry the Channel RVA news ticker, surfacing breaking news, upcoming events, Turf Wars updates, and subscriber CTAs between rounds. Built on Supabase Realtime, the entire platform — host tool, TV display, and player interface — stays in sync without any page refreshes.
